Synergy Symposium

A Focus on “Funding the Change”

Birthed out of this Synergy Symposium is THE SYNERGY PROJECT a collaborate effort of community-based organizations to fund and effectuate change through the synergy of economic development and wrap-around care coordination.

The Inaugural Synergy Symposium

Convened by Concerned African Women, The Children's Trust, and Miami-Dade County, the focus of the inaugural Synergy Symposium was to spotlight the power of collective impact to solve society's toughest challenges in five fields: Education, Poverty, Health, Safety, Family Strengthening, and Entrepreneurship.

The tri-fold purpose was to:

  1. Convene national and local practitioners and funders whose investments are working to bring about change to low-income communities across Florida.
  2. Share insights and inspirations with a regional audience.
  3. Leverage the day's experience and deepened connections to create innovative new collective impact initiatives.

Who Should Attend

Attendees will include a diverse audience of people committed to new heights of synergy in aligning resources to improve results in community advancement. Attendees should include funders, practitioners, and change makers

"Deep Dive look at leading-edge solutions" in five fields
Speakers present creative and inventive approaches to the five fields and invite inquiring minds for an interactive discussion on "what's working"  in communities across South Florida: 

  • EDUCATION – Closing the gap faster
  • POVERTY – Accelerating poverty reduction
  • HEALTH AND SAFETY – Investing for progress
  • FAMILY STRENGTHENING – Restoring the centrality of “family”
  • ENTREPRENEURSHIP – Driving social change  
12:00 – 1:30 PM Networking Lunch and live interview of Brianna Rollins, 2016 Olympic Gold Medalist by Jim Berry of Channel 4 & Special Presentations
1:30 – 4:00 PM Funding the Change Roundtable: Interactive discussion with Miami-Dade County's largest funding sources on sustainable and collaborative strategies to effectuate change.
